Achievement in University
Academic achievement or academic performance is the extent to which a student, teacher or institution has attained their short or long-term educational goals. Completion of educational benchmarks such as secondary school diplomas and bachelor's degrees represent academic achievement.
The Medical School recognizes and celebrates the members of our community who are making significant advances within our mission areas of research, education, and clinical care. We strive to attract a diverse pool of nominees for awards. We strive to sponsor and include nominations that reflect the broad range of identities in our Medical School, including race, ethnicity, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, national origin, religious practice, and socioeconomic status.
Award winners themselves, this committee is composed of professors who are active and productive researchers, educators, and clinicians. The committee is responsible for the screening, reviewing, and recommendation of award nominees for the Dean of the Medical School. This committee is responsible for internal University of Minnesota awards (University level), and all national and international awards.
